Food & remembering Grandma Jo

Andie's food consumption has been really impressive lately. She's always been a good eater, but she's been amping up the quantity recently. She enjoyed some of Jason's polenta and meatballs at dinner on Monday. While Kristin was away at an abalone workshop this week, Nana and Papa cooked spaetzle with stroganoff for Andie and Jason -- the same dish Kristin used to woo Jason when they first started dating. Andie approved! Sometimes Andie babbles up a storm while she's eating, but of course, it's difficult to catch on video. Here she stops a long diatribe just in time for Kristin to hit record. Kristin and Andie took a walk near Nana and Papa's house today and got to check out a cool sculpture garden at a winery. They came across this Temple of Remembrance, where people had hung prayer flags with names of lost loved ones. Kristin and Andie decided to make one for Andie's great-grandma Jo, who passed away on...

Ten months old!

Andie has entered the double-digits! She turned ten months old yesterday. She started saying her first words around Christmastime. Perhaps unsurprisingly, her first words were "dog" and "Hawkeye". She also spurted out a "bye-bye" recently. She has gotten quite good at standing without support, especially when both of her hands are occupied with toys. She is now substantially larger than her plush squid. We can't believe she's only 2 months shy of completing her first trip around the sun!
