Blowing bubbles

Jason and Kristin had great fun teaching Andie to blow bubbles in the bathtub last night, so it was fitting that we also played with bubbles when Nana and Papa visited today. Andie didn't quite get the concept of blowing the bubbles, but she did try to taste them. We all had fun trying on Andie's Aggies hat (thanks, Uncle James!). Andie enjoyed trying on Nana's glasses.

Two-week catch up

We've had some wonderful visitors and some great adventures since our last post. Andie enjoyed time at the park with Nana and Papa. We had lots of fun with friends at Dinucci's for dinner last Thursday. Andie loved the spaghetti. We spent last weekend with Jason's family celebrating Grandma Jo's life. (Thanks to Aunt Claudia for some of the photos!) We also had a fantastic visit with good friends from Iowa, Murray and Lori. In typical fashion, Andie took some naps with people. Napping with Papa Napping with Manon ' Andie continues to practice and improve her walking. Her goal is to be a track star by her first birthday.

Remembering Uncle Butch & Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Andie made some impressive Valentine's Day artwork at daycare this week. We took a trip to Santa Cruz over the weekend to attend a memorial service for Jason's Uncle Butch. It was nice to have the family together to celebrate his life. While we were in Santa Cruz, we stopped by to see Steve, Cecil, and Piper, the generous family responsible for a great deal of what's in Andie's closet. Piper colored a wonderful welcome note for Andie. It was the first time the babes have gotten to meet and discuss their shared wardrobe. Andie enjoyed checking out Piper's Amazon house and all of her fun toys. We hope we can all get together again soon! On our way back home, we picked up Papa at the airport on his way home from a trip repairing kids' clefts in Guatemala. Nana cooked us all a tasty welcome home dinner, and Andie enjoyed climbing on Kristin's old rocking chair. ...

Eleven months old!

Andie turned 11 months old on Friday. We can't believe she's just one month shy of a year! She is up to 5 teeth, with her left lateral incisor emerging last week. She continues to exhibit her dad's palate for strong flavors, including sour. Here she is munching on a lime from her friend Captain Steve. She has added "all done" to her signing and verbal vocabulary, and she continues to love to climb anything she can get a leg up on.
