Big kid!

Sometimes it's amazing what a big kid Andie is becoming. She really loves to drink out of her big kid cup.   She learned to play the kazoo last week, which brings her family much joy. She's even starting to claim the seat at the head of the dinner table. She's doing a great job of using the potty regularly , especially at daycare.  It seems like driving must be right around the corner! As she's able to get into more big kid trouble, Nana and Papa have been trying out some new childcare strategies... Andie had some wonderful time with Grandma Jane and Grandpa Stan last week. Unfortunately, we failed to get many family photos. It was wonderful help to have them here while Jason taught a class. Andie loves playing with the excavation trucks Grandma brought for her. There are still lots of ripe blackberries around the yard. Kristin thinks Andie's post-berry-feast face makes her look like Black(berry) Beard the Pirate, ...

Messy

Andie has been doing a pretty great job of getting messy lately. She recently learned a new trick of biting the tip off of her markers to color her mouth. She also taught herself to stand on cans to make higher up messes than she is able to from ground level. Andie now knows how to make sure to get all of the milk out of her cereal bowl. She loves to rearrange the decomposed granite in Jason's new horseshoe pit. Andie is especially enjoying all of the juicy blackberries around the yard and along the road. When she isn't busy getting messy, she helps Jason with his new workout routine.

Howarth Park

Nana, Papa, and Kristin took Andie to Haworth Park for the first time on Sunday. Andie loved playing on the swing and the rocking horse. She also loved riding the train with Kristin and Nana (don't be fooled by her stoic face ... she was upset when she had to get off and wanted to go again!). She was also super excited about the carousel ... until it started moving ... She laughed at the ducks in the pond ...  ... and pet a few animals at the petting zoo. Papa stylized a couple of the photos he took with an ap on his phone. When we got back to Nana and Papa's house, Andie serenaded us with her cutting board guitar.

Farmhouse

Team Herilino had a fun-filled trip to the little red farmhouse this weekend to see wonderful friends. Andie got to see her buddy Sam, who she hadn't seen since she was six months old. Andie and Sam, July 2016 Andie and Sam, September 2015 They got reaquainted via some hand touching. It was the perfect coastal summer day. We ate some tasty food -- Andie particularly enjoyed the strawberries. Andie showed everyone how to boogie to the music. They picked up her instruction quickly. Jason taught Andie to skateboard. Andie was very excited to join the big kids for a round of frisbee golf on the hillsides beyond the fence. The frisbee crew She loved riding the wagon full of discs back to the house. Steve took some drone footage of the surroundings while we were golfing (you can see the footage here: https://www.skypixel.com/share/video/the-farm-house-171c2db9-64b8-486c-bb59-8c4...
