Happy Thanksgiving!

Preparation for Thanksgiving started out with some artwork from daycare. Andie had some trouble figuring out what to do with the crayon, but she managed some lines with the help of one of her friends. In other artwork excitement, Uncle Ben also completed adding portholes to Andie's nursery door. The door looks AMAZING, and the whole family feels super honored to have such fantastic artwork in the house. Andie continued her first Thanksgiving experience with a trip to Costco to help Kristin and Jason buy a couple of turkeys to deep fry. Kristin and Jason though that Hawkeye also deserved a Thanksgiving bird. He began processing it promptly. He was generous enough to share a drumstick with Andie. On Thanksgiving Day, Andie made sure to dress for the occasion (thanks, Piper!). Her new shoes from Nana even matched her outfit. It was a grand, deep-fried affair! Eight months old!

Andie turned eight months old yesterday! She has four teeth and lots of energy. She likes to stick her tongue out, and she's getting pretty good at giving passable high-fives. She's starting to make some pretty expressive faces. She is not interested in lying still with her squid for a photo.

First scientific conference

Kristin had a conference in Sacramento this weekend, so Jason and Andie came along for the ride. While Kristin attended talks on Friday, Andie and Jason went up the road to Grass Valley to visit Great-Grandma Jo. They also got to see Aunt Lynn and Uncle Chuck. Crazy eyes must run in the family... Andie spreading the hair-pulling love And, of course, they also got to see Grandma Jane and Grandpa Stan. On the way back to Sacramento, they visited Auntie Sue and Uncle Joe in Auburn. On Saturday, while Kristin went to more talks, Grandma Jane and Grandpa Stan came down to spend the day with Andie and Jason. They had fun at Fairytale Town and the Sacramento Zoo. On Sunday, Andie and Jason tried to attend Kristin's talk, but Andie got flustered when her mom started talking about abalone eggs and sperm and needed to leave the room.
