First scientific conference

Kristin had a conference in Sacramento this weekend, so Jason and Andie came along for the ride. While Kristin attended talks on Friday, Andie and Jason went up the road to Grass Valley to visit Great-Grandma Jo.

They also got to see Aunt Lynn and Uncle Chuck.

And, of course, they also got to see Grandma Jane and Grandpa Stan.

On the way back to Sacramento, they visited Auntie Sue and Uncle Joe in Auburn.

On Saturday, while Kristin went to more talks, Grandma Jane and Grandpa Stan came down to spend the day with Andie and Jason. They had fun at Fairytale Town and the Sacramento Zoo.

On Sunday, Andie and Jason tried to attend Kristin's talk, but Andie got flustered when her mom started talking about abalone eggs and sperm and needed to leave the room.

It was wonderful to catch up with old friends at the conference, and meet new ones, too!

Kristin is so grateful for Jason's incredible support in parenthood. She's a lucky lady. His selfie skills could use some work though. Andie agrees.

Besides the conference fun, Kristin and Andie are pretty excited about Iowa's 9-0 football record! Go Hawks!

Deck reconstruction

The deck attached to the Herilino Annex was rotting away, so Uncle Chuck visited again to help give it an overhaul. Uncle Joe and cousin Karen generously helped out, and baby Andie even chipped in! Changes

There have been a lot of changes over the past six weeks in the Herilino household. Perhaps the biggest is that Nani and Papa moved out! We were so happy to take them in after the fire, and we are even happier that they have found a new place of their own to call home (especially because it isn't in Iowa). They are again just a short drive away in Santa Rosa, and they even promised to still babysit one day a week. Nani and Papa really enjoyed spreading out after being relegated to such tight quarters at the Herilino house. Although they didn't have too much stuff to move, Andie helped them unpack some of their new things. She liked how the packing material stuck to their clean windows. They don't have much in the way of furniture yet either, but Nani and Papa made sure Andie felt comfortable by stocking their house with new toys, a kid's table, and a potty seat. Pizza & ready to crawl

Andie added pizza to her list of foods yesterday, doing right by her New York family heritage. Kristin spent her first night away from Andie last night to throw a bachelorette party for Auntie Ellie. Everyone survived! Andie seems to be pretty close to crawling these days, making Kristin and Jason wonder if they're going to have to dedicate some time to better baby-proofing soon.
