Big kid!

Sometimes it's amazing what a big kid Andie is becoming. She really loves to drink out of her big kid cup.
 
She learned to play the kazoo last week, which brings her family much joy.


She's even starting to claim the seat at the head of the dinner table.



She's doing a great job of using the potty regularly, especially at daycare. It seems like driving must be right around the corner!



As she's able to get into more big kid trouble, Nana and Papa have been trying out some new childcare strategies...


Andie had some wonderful time with Grandma Jane and Grandpa Stan last week. Unfortunately, we failed to get many family photos. It was wonderful help to have them here while Jason taught a class.



Andie loves playing with the excavation trucks Grandma brought for her.


There are still lots of ripe blackberries around the yard. Kristin thinks Andie's post-berry-feast face makes her look like Black(berry) Beard the Pirate, especially when yielding Hawkeye's stick.





Andie, Kristin, Nana, and Papa took a trip to Pleasanton to visit Kristin's cousins and meet their new babies, Adrien and Jackson.






Nana loved meeting her new grandniece and grandnephew!




Andie did not love sharing Nana's lab with another baby.



It's tough being the big kid that has to share with the little kids.



She managed to make friends with a kid at the party she found much less threatening.

Changes

There have been a lot of changes over the past six weeks in the Herilino household. Perhaps the biggest is that Nani and Papa moved out! We were so happy to take them in after the fire, and we are even happier that they have found a new place of their own to call home (especially because it isn't in Iowa). They are again just a short drive away in Santa Rosa, and they even promised to still babysit one day a week. Nani and Papa really enjoyed spreading out after being relegated to such tight quarters at the Herilino house. Although they didn't have too much stuff to move, Andie helped them unpack some of their new things. She liked how the packing material stuck to their clean windows. They don't have much in the way of furniture yet either, but Nani and Papa made sure Andie felt comfortable by stocking their house with new toys, a kid's table, and a potty seat. Pizza & ready to crawl

Andie added pizza to her list of foods yesterday, doing right by her New York family heritage. Kristin spent her first night away from Andie last night to throw a bachelorette party for Auntie Ellie. Everyone survived! Andie seems to be pretty close to crawling these days, making Kristin and Jason wonder if they're going to have to dedicate some time to better baby-proofing soon.
