First road trip

Andie went on her first road trip this weekend to attend her second cousin's baby shower. She was a fantastic travel buddy! She enjoyed the many hours in the car, and even slept well in a new place for the first time away from home since she left the hospital.
Andie is an excellent car-napper, just like her mom.

 On Saturday, we stopped in Grass Valley, where Andie got to meet Great-Grandma Jo, Aunt Lynn, and cousin Kody for the first time.

We had a wonderful dinner at Grandma Jane and Grandpa Stan's on Saturday evening. Andie got to see Aunt Sue and Uncle Joe, Aunt Ashley and Uncle Andy, and her cousins, too!

On Sunday, we drove to Yuba City to celebrate the arrival of Andie's second cousin, Eleanor (Ellie) Rose, who was born 12 days after Andie. The party was at Aunt Pam and Uncle Loren's, so we finally got to see the pomegranate farm!

 All the aunties arranged lots of fun activities for the bigger kids. Andie can't wait until she's old enough to play along!

We finished off the weekend with a video chat with Nana and Papa. Kristin tried to take a screenshot to share, but none of us ended up looking very photo-worthy. Maybe next time.

Changes

There have been a lot of changes over the past six weeks in the Herilino household. Perhaps the biggest is that Nani and Papa moved out! We were so happy to take them in after the fire, and we are even happier that they have found a new place of their own to call home (especially because it isn't in Iowa). They are again just a short drive away in Santa Rosa, and they even promised to still babysit one day a week. Nani and Papa really enjoyed spreading out after being relegated to such tight quarters at the Herilino house. Although they didn't have too much stuff to move, Andie helped them unpack some of their new things. She liked how the packing material stuck to their clean windows. They don't have much in the way of furniture yet either, but Nani and Papa made sure Andie felt comfortable by stocking their house with new toys, a kid's table, and a potty seat. Pizza & ready to crawl

Andie added pizza to her list of foods yesterday, doing right by her New York family heritage. Kristin spent her first night away from Andie last night to throw a bachelorette party for Auntie Ellie. Everyone survived! Andie seems to be pretty close to crawling these days, making Kristin and Jason wonder if they're going to have to dedicate some time to better baby-proofing soon.
