Busy April

The month of April has been busy! Here are some highlights:

Andie discovered the joy of beads after finding some in the costume box post-Fool's Day Parade.

She is even willing to share her beads with big brother Hawkeye.

We all enjoyed going to the Fisherman's Festival. Jason liked working at the beer both, and Andie liked dog watching and listening to the music. She also liked the Three Twins ice cream she got to eat.

Andie got her first shiner last week after an encounter with a TV tray. She wore it well, and made sure to tell everyone, "You should have seen the other guy!"

She spent lots of time doing the things she loves, like playing with bubbles and playing outside.

Andie and Kristin went on a hike to check out all the beautiful wildflowers in bloom.

Kristin had a trip to LA for work, where she was forced to do math before sunrise and endure the disappointment of a failed abalone spawning attempt, but Jason made sure to send her lots of cute Andie pictures to make up for it.

Kristin got the best hug ever from Andie when she got home!

Andie is learning lots of new things these days. Her vocabulary is increasing like crazy. She still only says a handful of words, but she understands a whole lot more, and is getting good at following commands. She even learned to put on her own hat this week.

It is really fun to watch how quickly she's taking on the world! Of course, all that learning is exhausting.

Comments

  1. She is such a luck girl to have all her best moments recorded for all posterity. Can you please take some "worst" moments - if not, you won't have anything to use for leverage when she is a dramatic teenager!

    1. It's too dark for photography in the middle of the night when we're still all awake together ;-)

Deck reconstruction

The deck attached to the Herilino Annex was rotting away, so Uncle Chuck visited again to help give it an overhaul. Uncle Joe and cousin Karen generously helped out, and baby Andie even chipped in! Making a plan Demo nearly completed Adding new boards Finishing up the new railing Breaking for beer and strawberries More demo-ing Kristin and Andie were a little scared for Uncle Joe up there on those narrow old boards! Turning a deck into a roof Andie even helped to finish it all off! Ha, just kidding!  That's Jason's Cabbage Patch doll up there. Did you really think Jason would carry the baby on the roof? Sheesh, what kind of parents do you think Kristin and Jason are? Jason and Elden This post was created especially for Nana and Grandma Jane. Our apologies for any adverse health effects it may have triggered.

Changes

There have been a lot of changes over the past six weeks in the Herilino household. Perhaps the biggest is that Nani and Papa moved out! We were so happy to take them in after the fire, and we are even happier that they have found a new place of their own to call home (especially because it isn't in Iowa). They are again just a short drive away in Santa Rosa, and they even promised to still babysit one day a week. Nani and Papa really enjoyed spreading out after being relegated to such tight quarters at the Herilino house. Although they didn't have too much stuff to move, Andie helped them unpack some of their new things. She liked how the packing material stuck to their clean windows. They don't have much in the way of furniture yet either, but Nani and Papa made sure Andie felt comfortable by stocking their house with new toys, a kid's table, and a potty seat. We are already having lots of fun hanging out there. Andie loved trying ou...

Pizza & ready to crawl

Andie added pizza to her list of foods yesterday, doing right by her New York family heritage. Kristin spent her first night away from Andie last night to throw a bachelorette party for Auntie Ellie. Everyone survived! Andie seems to be pretty close to crawling these days, making Kristin and Jason wonder if they're going to have to dedicate some time to better baby-proofing soon.
