Independence Day weekend

Independence Day weekend started off with a celebration of Kristin's birthday. She got to sleep in, shower, and even go out with her friend Ben for a beer, a movie, and ice cream! It was a great day, made even better by the snazzy glasses Nana and Papa sent her.

We were so fortunate to have a visit from Lauren, Wylen, Max, and Rosemary for the 4th.

Jason cooked some delicious fish tacos for dinner, and Kristin followed up with some strawberry ice cream for dessert.

Max showed Andie how to scoot and stand up. It was a lot of work, and required a brief nap under the table.

Wylie did a great job entertaining Andie in all of her swings and bouncers.

Yesterday we went to the marine lab to visit all the critters.

We can't wait for the next time we get together!

Deck reconstruction

The deck attached to the Herilino Annex was rotting away, so Uncle Chuck visited again to help give it an overhaul. Uncle Joe and cousin Karen generously helped out, and baby Andie even chipped in! Changes

There have been a lot of changes over the past six weeks in the Herilino household. Perhaps the biggest is that Nani and Papa moved out! We were so happy to take them in after the fire, and we are even happier that they have found a new place of their own to call home (especially because it isn't in Iowa). They are again just a short drive away in Santa Rosa, and they even promised to still babysit one day a week. Nani and Papa really enjoyed spreading out after being relegated to such tight quarters at the Herilino house. Although they didn't have too much stuff to move, Andie helped them unpack some of their new things. She liked how the packing material stuck to their clean windows. They don't have much in the way of furniture yet either, but Nani and Papa made sure Andie felt comfortable by stocking their house with new toys, a kid's table, and a potty seat. Pizza & ready to crawl

Andie added pizza to her list of foods yesterday, doing right by her New York family heritage. Kristin spent her first night away from Andie last night to throw a bachelorette party for Auntie Ellie. Everyone survived! Andie seems to be pretty close to crawling these days, making Kristin and Jason wonder if they're going to have to dedicate some time to better baby-proofing soon.
