Looking back

It's been fun to keep track of Andie's growth through photos. We've been keeping up with her squid photos here she is at 24 months.

And here is the full sequence of the first 12 months, at 18 months, and at 24 months.

Good thing we haven't aged as much as she has (photos at 0, 12, and 24 months).

(Somehow we missed the 12-month version of the the next pose.)

We've had lots of adventures in the past month. Andie had fun at the beach with Nana and Papa.

She spent time on some trains in Duncans Mills and by Nana and Papa's house.

A highlight of the month for the whole family was visiting horses at Hawkwood Hill Farm with Roger and Ann. The grounds were beautiful, and Andie loved seeing all the horses!

Andie had fun going to Tashi's house for Easter. She also enjoyed pairing some bunny-ear stockings with the lovely dress Grandma made for her.

Playing with Tashi always seems to wear her out!

Andie also enjoyed hanging out with her buddy Shayne, singing into Play-Doh microphones and making volcanoes.

Andie has been doing a great job helping in the yard lately and getting the garden ready for planting. She especially likes to wear Jason's gardening gloves.

Andie has been doing a great job using the toilet, and is very specific about where she would like to do her business.

Andie still loves sharing smoothies with Jason.

She also still loves chatting on the phone, and she has been making lots of calls to Uncle James lately. Here she is calling him about a tummy ache on her stud-finder phone.

Andie is also getting very good at using video chat and recording messages for Kristin and Jason when they are out of town. Here is a recent message she made for Jason.

Kristin has been away in DC for the past two weeks, and missing her family terribly. She's excited to get back to California soon so she can see them in person rather than over a screen!

Deck reconstruction

The deck attached to the Herilino Annex was rotting away, so Uncle Chuck visited again to help give it an overhaul. Uncle Joe and cousin Karen generously helped out, and baby Andie even chipped in! Making a plan Demo nearly completed Adding new boards Finishing up the new railing Breaking for beer and strawberries More demo-ing Kristin and Andie were a little scared for Uncle Joe up there on those narrow old boards! Turning a deck into a roof Andie even helped to finish it all off! Ha, just kidding!  That's Jason's Cabbage Patch doll up there. Did you really think Jason would carry the baby on the roof? Sheesh, what kind of parents do you think Kristin and Jason are? Jason and Elden This post was created especially for Nana and Grandma Jane. Our apologies for any adverse health effects it may have triggered.

Changes

There have been a lot of changes over the past six weeks in the Herilino household. Perhaps the biggest is that Nani and Papa moved out! We were so happy to take them in after the fire, and we are even happier that they have found a new place of their own to call home (especially because it isn't in Iowa). They are again just a short drive away in Santa Rosa, and they even promised to still babysit one day a week. Nani and Papa really enjoyed spreading out after being relegated to such tight quarters at the Herilino house. Although they didn't have too much stuff to move, Andie helped them unpack some of their new things. She liked how the packing material stuck to their clean windows. They don't have much in the way of furniture yet either, but Nani and Papa made sure Andie felt comfortable by stocking their house with new toys, a kid's table, and a potty seat. We are already having lots of fun hanging out there. Andie loved trying ou...

Pizza & ready to crawl

Andie added pizza to her list of foods yesterday, doing right by her New York family heritage. Kristin spent her first night away from Andie last night to throw a bachelorette party for Auntie Ellie. Everyone survived! Andie seems to be pretty close to crawling these days, making Kristin and Jason wonder if they're going to have to dedicate some time to better baby-proofing soon.
