May 2017

We're catching up on months we missed while Baby Buoy was in utero and there were lots of other significant happenings for Team Herilino. Here is a look back at May 2017, in which Jason had a birthday, Aunt Lynn and Uncle Chuck visited, and Andie went to her first Giants game.

Nani made a delicious angel food cake for Jason's birthday, and Andie helped her put the candles in.

We had some nice growth in the garden Jason planted while Kristin was away in DC earlier in the month.

Aunt Lynn and Uncle Chuck visited in their RV.

We spent a lovely day at the Farmhouse with James, Ellie, and Penny.

Andie went to her first Giants game. It was also Kristin's first visit to AT&T Park. We took the ferry over from Larkspur, and ran into Shelby on the boat.

Cousin Karen met us in the city.

Andie and Kristin went on a beach adventure with Patricia and Shayne.

Patricia and Shayne

Andie carried her gear the entire way back to the car from the beach.

Our neighbor, Rita, was giving Andie a chocolate ladybug every time we visited. After the beach we met her at Gourmet au Bay for lunch, and she made sure she still got Andie some chocolate even though she didn't have a chocolate ladybug on her. Andie loved every bit of it except for the almond inside.

Andie spent some good quality time with Hawkeye this month.

He continues to be an incredibly tolerant dog.

We had some warm days, where Hawkeye enjoyed the sprinkler and Jason enjoyed the deck.

Andie learned to blow the seeds off of dandelions.

Andie has been spending a lot of time sleeping in our bed with us lately. We always thought that co-sleeping posed more of a suffocation risk for children than adults. In any case, it's going really well for us.

Overall, it was a typical month with some typical family shenanigans.

A recap of June is coming shortly!

Changes

There have been a lot of changes over the past six weeks in the Herilino household. Perhaps the biggest is that Nani and Papa moved out! We were so happy to take them in after the fire, and we are even happier that they have found a new place of their own to call home (especially because it isn't in Iowa). They are again just a short drive away in Santa Rosa, and they even promised to still babysit one day a week. Nani and Papa really enjoyed spreading out after being relegated to such tight quarters at the Herilino house. Although they didn't have too much stuff to move, Andie helped them unpack some of their new things. She liked how the packing material stuck to their clean windows. They don't have much in the way of furniture yet either, but Nani and Papa made sure Andie felt comfortable by stocking their house with new toys, a kid's table, and a potty seat. We are already having lots of fun hanging out there. Andie loved trying ou...

Farmhouse

Team Herilino had a fun-filled trip to the little red farmhouse this weekend to see wonderful friends. Andie got to see her buddy Sam, who she hadn't seen since she was six months old. Andie and Sam, July 2016 Andie and Sam, September 2015 They got reaquainted via some hand touching. It was the perfect coastal summer day. We ate some tasty food -- Andie particularly enjoyed the strawberries. Andie showed everyone how to boogie to the music. They picked up her instruction quickly. Jason taught Andie to skateboard. Andie was very excited to join the big kids for a round of frisbee golf on the hillsides beyond the fence. The frisbee crew She loved riding the wagon full of discs back to the house. Steve took some drone footage of the surroundings while we were golfing (you can see the footage here: https://www.skypixel.com/share/video/the-farm-house-171c2db9-64b8-486c-bb59-8c4...

More visitors and first real bath

Andie met Uncle Joe and Auntie Sue yesterday. It was wonderful to have them visit, and we wish they could have stayed longer! They brought some delicious Kalua Pork and lemon bars, and even made a run to Wild Flour Bread this morning for some breakfast treats! Andie had her first bath in her infant tub last night, and she loved it! She lost her umbilical cord stump a little over a week ago, so she can finally submerge her cute little belly button. She's clearly well on her way to dive training!
