Christmas, part 1

We started Andie's first Christmas celebrations last week by dressing her up for a holiday party at a neighbor's house on Friday.



We figured we should milk the holiday costume as much as we could, since who knows how many years she'll allow us to do this to her, so we continued by dressing her up again for daycare on Thursday. Janet put her Santa hat on to match Andie.



On Thursday evening we attended the marine lab holiday party, and showed off Andie's costume some more.







On Saturday, we celebrated Christmas with Nana and Papa.

We had to stop playing the Doody Head game after too long because it turned out Andie was afraid of the hats ... or maybe just of her mom and Papa ...

Andie loved her new walker from Nana and Papa, and she learned how to use it very quickly! She even figured out how to turn it around when she ran into the wall.



Nana made some delicious paella for dinner.

Andie continues having fun playing with her new toys, especially her new walker!

Changes

There have been a lot of changes over the past six weeks in the Herilino household. Perhaps the biggest is that Nani and Papa moved out! We were so happy to take them in after the fire, and we are even happier that they have found a new place of their own to call home (especially because it isn't in Iowa). They are again just a short drive away in Santa Rosa, and they even promised to still babysit one day a week. Nani and Papa really enjoyed spreading out after being relegated to such tight quarters at the Herilino house. Although they didn't have too much stuff to move, Andie helped them unpack some of their new things. She liked how the packing material stuck to their clean windows. They don't have much in the way of furniture yet either, but Nani and Papa made sure Andie felt comfortable by stocking their house with new toys, a kid's table, and a potty seat. Pizza & ready to crawl

Andie added pizza to her list of foods yesterday, doing right by her New York family heritage. Kristin spent her first night away from Andie last night to throw a bachelorette party for Auntie Ellie. Everyone survived! Andie seems to be pretty close to crawling these days, making Kristin and Jason wonder if they're going to have to dedicate some time to better baby-proofing soon.
