Christmas, part 2

Kristin, Jason, Andie, and Hawkeye drove up to Grass Valley to see Jason's family for Christmas. They stopped for lunch on the way.

Andie got to help make handprint t-shirts with her cousins for Grandma Jane and Grandpa Stan. It was fun to have paint all over her hand.

She got to open presents a day early at Grandma Jane's and Grandpa Stan's.

Jason got a new dive helmet.

It's a little large yet for Andie.

Aunt Ashley cooked some delicious cioppino for everyone on Christmas Eve.

We hung out with family more on Christmas Day.

Aunt Ashley, Andie, Taylor, and Deacon

Hunter, Uncle Jason, and Finn

Baby Andie and Uncle Andy both caught a quick snooze so they could get through all the day's festivities.

We stopped by the Hospitality House to visit all the aunties and uncles helping cook Christmas dinner for those in need.

Andie and Aunt Lynn had similar outfits

Andie liked the little balls on Aunt Sarah's sweater
Then we went to visit Great-Grandma Jo.

Jason, always festive

Karen and Eden stopped by.

Andie got an adirondack chair just her size to match Jason's and Kristin's!

She wasn't sure at first...

She liked sitting in the chair with Eden

We finished off the trip with brunch. It was tough to stay awake.

It was a wonderful Christmas. We feel so fortunate to have been able to spend it with so much of our family.

Deck reconstruction

The deck attached to the Herilino Annex was rotting away, so Uncle Chuck visited again to help give it an overhaul. Uncle Joe and cousin Karen generously helped out, and baby Andie even chipped in! Making a plan Demo nearly completed Adding new boards Finishing up the new railing Breaking for beer and strawberries More demo-ing Kristin and Andie were a little scared for Uncle Joe up there on those narrow old boards! Turning a deck into a roof Andie even helped to finish it all off! Ha, just kidding!  That's Jason's Cabbage Patch doll up there. Did you really think Jason would carry the baby on the roof? Sheesh, what kind of parents do you think Kristin and Jason are? Jason and Elden This post was created especially for Nana and Grandma Jane. Our apologies for any adverse health effects it may have triggered.

Changes

There have been a lot of changes over the past six weeks in the Herilino household. Perhaps the biggest is that Nani and Papa moved out! We were so happy to take them in after the fire, and we are even happier that they have found a new place of their own to call home (especially because it isn't in Iowa). They are again just a short drive away in Santa Rosa, and they even promised to still babysit one day a week. Nani and Papa really enjoyed spreading out after being relegated to such tight quarters at the Herilino house. Although they didn't have too much stuff to move, Andie helped them unpack some of their new things. She liked how the packing material stuck to their clean windows. They don't have much in the way of furniture yet either, but Nani and Papa made sure Andie felt comfortable by stocking their house with new toys, a kid's table, and a potty seat. We are already having lots of fun hanging out there. Andie loved trying ou...

Pizza & ready to crawl

Andie added pizza to her list of foods yesterday, doing right by her New York family heritage. Kristin spent her first night away from Andie last night to throw a bachelorette party for Auntie Ellie. Everyone survived! Andie seems to be pretty close to crawling these days, making Kristin and Jason wonder if they're going to have to dedicate some time to better baby-proofing soon.
