We've had a lot of adventures since our last post! Jason and Andie spent a day at the beach last week.
Andie had lot of fun playing make-believe with Jason. Here she is playing a Wonder Woman scientist teacher in need of money.
When Andie wasn't at school, she threw the stick for Hawkeye ...
... and enjoyed a smorgasbord of snacks.
Andie and Jason also looked for whales. Jason saw about a dozen spouts, but Andie had trouble seeing them, so she tried looking through the binoculars.
Jason and Andie took lots of selfies to document their time together at the beach.
They made sure to include Hawkeye, too.
They had to think about heading home once the sun started to set, but they soaked up a few final peeks at the ocean.
Andie was pretty tired when she got home.
Later in the week, Andie got to go on an adventure to the skating rink with Kristen. It was her first time on roller skates. She was aprehensive at first, but the push pop helped, and now she can't wait to go again!
Last weekend, Andie finally got to show off the marine lab to Tashi, Jay, and Naomi! She hung out at Ellie's desk while she waited for them to arrive.
Andie and Tashi chatted in Jason's office while everyone else enjoyed some food from the Boat House.
They toured everything from the pool to the tidepool.
Kristin was tired from a tour she had already given that morning, so she and Jack hung out in the library. Jack loved the view.
He was less enthusiastic about the selfie.
We had lots of visitors over the past weekend. Grandma Jane and Aunt Sue came down on Sunday to try a dress on Andie for Stephanie's wedding.
They made sure to get some Jack snuggles while they were here.
Karen, Eden, and Jacob visited on Monday. The boys loved holding their cousin!
While we waited for our dinner to arrive at Negris, Andie gave a pretty epic vocal performance on the front steps.
The lyrics go something like the following:
"No, you must, you must let the car hit you.
...
Aye, and my engine, you know,
ma hoo soo loo eee.
You are my life,
and you can't, can't gonna believe this.
You know, hello to everybody we know.
...
Ach ach ach ach ach oooh
you kn-ach-ach-ach-ach-ow *cough*
you now, ooh mah, ooh soo ..."
Karen held Jack through her entire dinner at Negris so Kristin and Jason could eat with two hands.
Kristin had a visit from her friend and colleague, Tessa, last week. She totally spaced on getting a photo of Tessa and Jack together, but she managed to document all of the amazing things Tessa brought over, which included delicious treats and presents for Andie and Jack.
The homemade applesauce and blueberry muffins did not last long.
Andie loved her big sister gifts, and played with them both right away!
Kristin got in on the crafty fun, too. This piece is called "White abalone in a kelp forest" ... can you see it?
Lovely springtime weather has allowed for lots of outdoor time. Andie has been enjoying the tricycle Nani and Papa got her for her birthday. Kristin can't decide which one of these photos she likes best.
Kristin has been taking lots of hikes with Jack lately. Jason, Andie, and Hawkeye joined her on Sunday.
Andie and Kristin did lots of skipping.
Jason, Kristin, Andie, and Jack went to the "Super Park" in Sebastopol on Monday. Andie loved the swings.
We stopped for some frozen yogurt afterward.
Andie has been really into pink lately. On Monday morning, she insisted on wearing a pink shirt, pink pants, pink socks, pint mittens, and an inside-out pink hat.
She topped off the look with a pink mustache from Kristin's smoothie.
Jack has started smiling fairly consistently. It's been tough to document because when it's going on you just want to soak it all up.
He also makes some pretty cute snoring noises.
Overall, life is still moving pretty fast here in the Herilino house!
But Kristin and Jason are doing their best to keep it together.
Nani and Papa have also had an exciting couple of weeks: they sold their lot and bought a house in Santa Rosa, which they will move into in mid-May. It will be sad to have them further away, but so wonderful that they can begin the next chapter of their post-fire lives.
Papa is hoping he can teach Jack to walk before he moves out:

I'm so glad to hear your parents bought a house! I'm sure you'll all be happy/sad for the adventure of living together to be over -- but here's to new beginnings and happy memories!!
